There was loads of wind first thing, 30 knots NW, so I was lokking forward to a good windsurf session. Anna had to play carols at the hospital at 10, so I waited until she left then headed across to the beach. By then the wind had eased considerably so I walked across with the 15m Strike.

On the beach the wind was 15-18 knots, possibly a little too much but I pumped it up anyway. The wind was dropping all the time and by the time I had the lines on, there was next to nothing. I launched it anyway and as I did the wind swung around to NE and was now only about 6 knots... Not much point getting on the water really. A bit of a shame, but in hindsight I'm glad I didn't go out earlier and have the wind drop off and swing offshore on me like that while I was out there.

I did contemplate going for a surf instead as the now offshore winds had cleaned the surf up nicely, but my neck is still hurting from yesterdays windsurf session and I didn't think I'd be able to surf without full movement in my neck.

Oh well, at least I got out on the beach in my wetsuit on Xmas Day, which has to be better than doing nothing!
